200 years of Herend porcelain

The city of Győr is hosting the first anniversary exhibition organized on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Herend Porcelain Manufactory.
The exhibition entitled “Centuries-Old Dimensions” presents the two-century heritage and continuous renewal of the Manufactory.
At the opening ceremony, Dr. Attila Simon, CEO of Herend Porcelain Manufactory, welcomed the guests. In his speech, he compared Herend to an oak tree, whose deep roots cling to the past representing traditions, while its constantly renewing innovative shoots reach towards the future.
“There is nothing impossible in porcelain art. From the 19th to the 21st century, Herend has successfully solved every challenge and is today the world leader among porcelain manufactories using artisanal technology.” – he emphasized.
The CEO highlighted that Herend Porcelain Manufactory has now become a global brand and is a symbol of elegance, uniqueness and excellent quality in more than sixty countries, and as Hungaricum an international ambassador of Hungarian heritage and Hungarian values.
According to Dr. Attila Simon, the expertise accumulated since 1826 and the beauty and luxury characteristic of Herend porcelain have been creating timeless values that connect Herend’s past, present and future.
In his welcome speech, Bishop Dr. András Veres, the chief patron of the exhibition, praised Herend porcelain as artistic proof of the beauty of the created world.
