Herend 200 – anniversary exhibition in the heart of Tokyo

On July 10, the 200th anniversary exhibition of Herend Porcelain was ceremoniously opened at the Liszt Institute in Tokyo, in connection with the exhibition titled “The Magical World of the Hungarian State Opera and Ballet – Tradition and Beauty at the Heart of Hungarian Culture”.
At the beginning of the program, a video message from CEO Dr. Attila Simon was shown.
At the opening ceremony, guests were greeted by Krisztina Merényi, Director of the Liszt Institute, Emese Kovács, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of Hungary in Tokyo, and Daisuke Suzuki, representative of Herend’s official Japanese distributor. The festive event was rounded off by a concert by artists from the Hungarian State Opera.
The anniversary exhibition titled “200 Years of Herend Porcelain” presents the two-century history of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory, the unity of tradition and innovation, and special works created on the occasion of the anniversary. Visitors can admire, among others, the Countdown Cup collection, hand-painted porcelain animal figurines, and anniversary teapots with crown knobs.
