“Porcelain Nobilis” – a special Herend porcelain exhibition in Eger

2025. May 26.
A unique selection of Herend porcelain is presented under the title "Porcelain Nobilis" at Eger Archbishop’s Palace Visitor Centre.
The exhibition not only presents classic utility and ornamental objects, but also exclusive works of art, such as a perfect replica of the Hungarian Holy Crown and a figurine of King St. Stephen on horseback. In keeping with the sacred nature of the place, the exhibition also features numerous religious-themed works of art.
An outstanding visual element is the development history of the Victoria set, presented on a four-meter-long decorative table, originally named in honour of the British queen. The set first became famous at the 1851 World’s Fair, when Queen Victoria personally ordered it.
At the opening ceremony, Csaba Hernádfői, director of the institution, and Dr. Attila Simon, CEO of Herend Porcelain Manufactory, welcomed the guests. The special event also included an exclusive guided tour, interpreted by the CEO.
The exhibition, featuring nearly 200 works of art, is a worthy harbinger of the bicentennial anniversary of Herend Porcelain Manufactory in 2026.
