Inauguration of restored gravestones of Fischer family in Tata
2026. June 29.
On June 22, 2026, the unique restored ceramic gravestones related to the Fischer family were solemnly inaugurated in the Jewish cemetery of Tata.
Dr. Attila Simon emphasized in his ceremonial speech at the event that the preservation of cultural heritage is a shared responsibility. He emphasized that the Fischer family played a decisive role not only in the history of Tata, but also in the 200-year history of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory, already during its founding. The family’s gravestones therefore represent industrial, artistic, and local historical value at the same time, while also preserving the memory of the Jewish community of Tata. It was therefore important for the Herend Porcelain Manufactory to financially support the renovation of the gravestones.
The inauguration was also an important symbol of the preservation of historical memories and community cooperation.
